J'ai découvert David Bowie en1982, lorsqu'une cousine me prêta deux K7 Audio où étaient enregistrés "ChangesTwoBowie" et "Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps"...).

I discovered David Bowie when a cousin of mine lent me 2 audio tapes which contained "ChangesTwoBowie" and "Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps...).

Cet album contenait des versions courtes de "Fashion" et "Ashes To Ashes". Par contre "John, I'm Only Dancing (Again) était dans sa version longue.

J'adorais écouter "Aladdin Sane", que je trouvais fantastique !

This album contained shortened versions of "Fashion" and "Ashes To Ashes" but "John, I'm Only dancing (Again) was in its extended form.

I loved to listen to "Aladdin Sane" which I found fantastic !!!

Je passais beaucoups de temps à les écouter, car j'étais déjà intrigué par la différence de style de ses chansons : comment ne pas l'être lorsqu'on écoute dans la foulée, disons, "Fashion" et "Starman" !!!

I spent a lot of time listening to them, because I was already so surprised by the difference of style between the songs : it's no so surprising  when you listen to "Fashion" and then "Starman !!!

Plus tard, en 1983, pendant un séjour en Italie, à Turin, on m'offrit deux autres compilations de Bowie , "Golden Years" et "The Best Of Bowie"...

Later, in 1983, during a stay in Turin, Italy, I was offered two more Bowie compilations, "Golden Years" and "The Best Of Bowie"...

Cet album, je ne le savais pas à cette époque était sensé représenter quelques titres joués lors du tout début de la tournée "Serious Moonlight", ce qui justifie un peu plus le choix étrange de certains titres... 

This album, I didn't know it at the time, was supposed to represent some tracks played during the very beginning of "The Serious Moonlight Tour" in 1983. You can find there the logical reason to have all these tracks together in the same LP...

Cette compilation est pour moi la plus cohérente de l'époque, en gardant l'ordre chronologique des titres...

Bien entendu, la selection s'arrête à l'année 1979 avec "Boys Keep Swinging", car l'album sortit dans les bacs en 1980.

This compilation is for me the most coherent of that time, the tracks being in the chronological order...

The selection stops in 1979 with "Boys Keep Swinging" for that album was released in 1980.

J'avais seulement 15 ans en 1983 et je ne pûs, à mon grand regret, aller voir un des concerts de la tournée à venir après la sortie de l'album "Let's Dance".

J'avais pourtant vu pendant mes vacances en Avril du côté d' Antibes les affiches annonçant le concert de Fréjus pour le mois de Juin !

I was only 15 in 1983, and I sadly wasn't able to go to any french concert of the forthcoming tour after the issue of the album "Let's dance".

Moreover I was on holidays in the french riviera in April 1983, and I remember seeing in a street an advert for the forthcoming Frejus show in June !

Mais je fus prêt lors de la tournée "Glass Spider" en 1987 pour aller voir mon premier show de Bowie à Lyon, le 28 Juin...

But I was ready to see my first Bowie show in 1987, for the "Glass Spider Tour", in Lyon, on the 28th June...
